The VQ25 belongs to Nissan’s renowned VQ series of V6 engines (along with the VQ20, VQ30, VQ35, and VQ37).
Introduced in 1994, the VQ series is known for its smooth operation, reliability, and lightweight design, and has been named one of “Ward’s 10 Best Engines” on multiple occasions. The VQ25 is the 2.5L version and comes in the following main variants:
VQ25DE: The most common naturally aspirated version (multipoint fuel injection)
VQ25DD: Direct-injection version (NEO-Di)
VQ25DET: Turbocharged version (less common)
VQ25HR: High-revving, high-performance version (primarily used in rear-wheel-drive models)
