being gradually replaced by the MR20DE in many applications.
The oil pump is a gerotor-type unit driven directly by the crankshaft. It supplies pressurized oil to the crankshaft bearings, camshafts, valvetrain and other critical components,
ensuring proper lubrication under all operating conditions. Early passenger-car versions are typically standalone pumps, while some later commercial applications
(Atlas, Caravan, NV350, Urvan) integrate the oil pump with a balance shaft unit.
