The Audi CJT is an early 3.0L mechanically supercharged V6 gasoline engine (3.0 TFSI) from the Volkswagen-Audi Group’s EA837 series, primarily produced around 2010–2015. It was developed from the naturally aspirated 3.2 FSI V6 and was the first to feature the Eaton supercharger (Roots-type compressor) on a large scale, delivering lag-free power delivery.
CJT is a key designation for the first-generation supercharged 3.0 TFSI, primarily used in the first-generation Audi Q7 (4L), with the 272 horsepower version being the most common. The series also included higher-output tunings (up to 333 horsepower). Featuring an all-aluminum V6 design, direct injection (FSI), and a DOHC 24-valve configuration, this engine is renowned for its linear acceleration and instantaneous response, and stands as a representative example of Audi’s early supercharged six-cylinder powertrains.
