The Audi BDX is a 2.8L naturally aspirated V6 gasoline engine from the Volkswagen-Audi Group’s EA837 series (actual displacement: 2,773 cc; commonly referred to as the 2.8 FSI). It was produced from approximately 2006 to 2010.
It is a short-stroke version of the 3.2 FSI (such as the AUK), with a stroke reduced to 82.4 mm. It features an all-aluminum construction, direct injection (FSI), and the Audi Valvelift System (AVS), which was used on a large scale for the first time. Primarily designed to bridge the power gap between the 2.4 MPI and the 3.2 FSI, it delivers smooth power and good fuel economy, serving as the entry-level naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine for the Audi A6 C6 and A8 D3. Subsequent variants included those with similar codes such as CCDA, CCEA, and CHVA.
