The Audi CNY (including variants such as CNYA and CNYB) is a 2.8L naturally aspirated V6 gasoline engine from the Volkswagen-Audi Group’s EA837 series (actual displacement: 2,773 cc; commonly referred to as the 2.8 FSI). It was primarily produced from around 2011 to 2018.
It is an upgraded version of the Audi V6 FSI family, featuring an aluminum alloy block and cylinder head, direct injection (FSI), a dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) 24-valve configuration, and equipped with the Audi Valvelift System (AVS) variable valve lift system and a variable intake manifold. The CNY variant is a mid-power, naturally aspirated version designed for mid-to-large sedans. It offers smooth power delivery and relatively economical fuel consumption. It was primarily installed in the Audi A6 C7 / A6L and select A7 models, replacing earlier 2.8 FSI variants such as the BDX and CCE.
