The M264 series engine is an inline-four turbocharged gasoline engine introduced by Mercedes-Benz to replace the previous M274 series. The M264.915 (264915) is a 1.5-liter version and marks the first large-scale implementation of the 48V EQ Boost mild hybrid system. Through an integrated starter-generator (ISG/BSG), this system not only provides an additional 10 kW (14 horsepower) of power assistance but also significantly reduces turbo lag and lowers fuel consumption. It is primarily used in the mid-cycle facelifted Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W205) and entry-level E-Class models in certain markets.
