The M157 is a high-performance 5.5L V8 biturbo engine developed by Mercedes-AMG to replace the earlier large-displacement, naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 (M156). It adheres to AMG’s classic

namely the ML 63 AMG, GLE 63 AMG / GLE 63 S AMG, and GL 63 AMG / GLS 63 AMG. It features an all-aluminum crankcase, piezoelectric direct injection (Piezo Direct Injection), twin turbochargers,
an air-to-water intercooler, and ECO start-stop technology.
