The Land Rover 508PS engine belongs to the third generation (internal code AJ133) of Jaguar Land Rover’s renowned AJ-V8 engine family. This series was introduced in 2009 to fully replace the earlier
4.2L and 4.4L V8 engines. “508PS” is the engine code used within the Jaguar Land Rover system, where 50 stands for 5.0 liters, 8 for a V8 configuration, P for Petrol (gasoline), and S for Supercharged
(mechanical supercharger). (Note: The naturally aspirated version is coded 508PN.)
