The Land Rover 276DT (also known as the AJD-V6) is a 2.7-liter V6 twin-turbocharged diesel engine jointly developed and produced by Jaguar Land Rover and the French PSA Group. In Jaguar Land Rover’s
naming convention, “27” stands for a 2.7-liter displacement, “6” for six cylinders, “D” for Diesel, and “T” for Turbo. This engine was the absolute workhorse diesel powerplant for the Land Rover Discovery
3 and the Range Rover Sport L320 in the mid-to-late 2000s.
Technical Features and Design: It features a compact 60-degree V6 layout, with a high-strength compacted graphite iron (CGI) block paired with an aluminum alloy cylinder head, and utilizes common-rail direct
injection technology. Its most notable structural feature is the sequential twin-turbocharging system: a smaller turbocharger provides rapid response at low RPM, while a larger turbocharger ensures sustained
power delivery at high RPM.
