The G4KE is a 2.4-liter inline-four naturally aspirated gasoline engine from the Hyundai-Kia Group’s Theta II series.
Mass production of this engine began in 2008 and continued primarily through 2019 (though it remains in production in some markets), with manufacturing taking place at plants in South Korea, the United States, and China. It was developed from the 2.0L G4KD by increasing the bore and stroke. It features an all-aluminum block and cylinder head, a timing chain drive, and Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) technology, and is known for its smooth power delivery and fuel efficiency.
