The G4KD is a 2.0-liter inline-four naturally aspirated gasoline engine from the Hyundai-Kia Group’s Theta II series.
Mass production of this engine began in 2008 and continued primarily through 2014 (with production continuing in some markets and at Chinese plants); it was manufactured in the United States, South Korea, and other locations. As a key model in the Theta series, it features an all-aluminum block and cylinder head, a timing chain drive, and variable valve timing (CVVT, mostly dual CVVT) technology, and shares its origins with engines such as the Mitsubishi 4B11.
