The G4FJ is a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline direct injection (T-GDI) engine from Hyundai-Kia’s Gamma series.
Officially launched in 2011, it is a high-performance version of the G4FD (1.6 GDI) that incorporates a twin-scroll turbocharger and an intercooler. Featuring an all-aluminum block and cylinder head, DOHC 16-valve configuration, direct injection (GDI), and dual continuously variable valve timing (Dual CVVT), it has a low compression ratio to accommodate turbocharging. Known for its powerful performance and excellent low-end torque, this engine is widely used in Hyundai-Kia’s sports cars and SUVs.
