The N46B20 is a 2.0L naturally aspirated inline-four gasoline engine produced by BMW from 2004 to approximately 2012; it belongs to the N46 series (an upgraded version of the N42). It features Double-VANOS and Valvetronic variable valve lift systems and is known for its smooth operation and fuel efficiency. It was primarily used in the 18i and 20i models. A later updated version, the N46N, was introduced.
