What is engine assembly?The B6324S is a 3.2L naturally aspirated gasoline engine from Volvo’s SI6 (Short Inline 6) series. Volvo unveiled this new inline-six engine in 2006, with plans to use it in the 2007 S80.
The design focused on accommodating the inline-six powertrain within the limited engine compartment space while balancing power, fuel economy, and vehicle crash safety.
This engine features a transversely mounted inline-six configuration, with both the engine block and cylinder heads constructed of aluminum. It incorporates technologies such as
dual overhead camshafts and variable valve timing on the intake side. Volvo’s original technical documentation lists the base displacement as 3,192 cc, with a bore of 84 mm and a stroke of 96 mm.
