What is engine assembly?The EA837 is a series of 3.0-litre V6 engines introduced by the Volkswagen Group (Audi/VW) from 2004 onwards, comprising naturally aspirated FSI and mechanically supercharged TFSI variants.
The cylinder head is cast from aluminium alloy and features a DOHC 24-valve design (four valves per cylinder), equipped with hydraulic tappets and a variable valve timing system.
Later supercharged versions (3.0 TFSI) featured further optimisations to the combustion chamber, cooling channels and valve seats, were fitted with an Eaton supercharger,
and incorporated a dual-injection system in certain EVO variants. With independent cylinder heads on the left and right sides (V6 configuration), this engine serves as the
core power unit for mid- to high-end Audi models.
