What is engine assembly?The MR20DE is a 2.0L inline-four naturally aspirated engine from Nissan’s MR series (developed in collaboration with Renault; Renault’s code name is M4R).
It was introduced around 2005 to replace the earlier QR20DE. It features an all-aluminum block and an aluminum DOHC 16-valve cylinder head, with chain-driven timing and
C-VTC (Continuously Variable Valve Timing) on the intake side. The “older models” (early versions) primarily refer to production batches from around 2005 to 2012,
which are distinguished by two cylinder head variants: one with EGR and one without EGR.
