The 224DT (also known as the 2.2 TD4 / SD4) is a Land Rover 2.2L inline-four turbocharged diesel engine produced from 2006 to 2016.
It belongs to the Duratorq / DW12 diesel engine family jointly developed by Ford and PSA (Peugeot Citroën), and shares a common design with the Ford Q4BA, Peugeot/ Citroën DW12M, and the Jaguar AJI4D. It features a cast-iron block and an aluminum alloy cylinder head, and is equipped with common-rail direct injection, a Garrett variable-geometry turbocharger, and an intercooler. Renowned for its high torque, durability, and good fuel economy, this engine was widely used in Land Rover compact SUVs before being gradually replaced by the Ingenium series.
Cylinder Block Material and Advanced Manufacturing Processes (Material & Technology)
Material: High-strength, high-grade reinforced cast iron/alloy cast iron cylinder block (Cast Iron Cylinder Block). Since the combustion pressure in diesel engines far exceeds that of gasoline engines,
high-rigidity cast iron must be used to ensure the cylinder block can withstand high compression ratios over the long term without experiencing even minimal deformation.
Inner Wall Processing: The hardened cylinder liners, precision-honed using CNC technology, offer exceptional resistance to high pressure and high-temperature combustion erosion,
as well as superior wear resistance, making them perfectly suited for the demanding operating conditions of the 224DT diesel engine, characterized by high torque and high thermal loads.
Our products are exported to various parts of the country, and the customers we have worked with have received unanimous praise. The company has invested over 20 million yuan in high-end remanufacturing equipment imported from abroad and a first-class production team in the country. Our warehouse has a total area of over 8000 square meters, with scientific management and sufficient supply of goods.
