The N55B30 is BMW’s classic 3.0L inline-six single-turbo, twin-scroll engine. Around 2013–2014, BMW implemented a mid-cycle technical update (i.e., the Late Model / LCI version),
primarily optimizing the crankshaft bearing lubrication system and cylinder block strength, thereby resolving potential issues with rod and main bearing wear found in earlier models.
