BDX is the engine code for Audi’s EA837 series 2.8L V6 FSI naturally aspirated gasoline engine.
Produced from 2006 to 2010, this engine belongs to the Audi/Volkswagen Group’s new generation of V6 engines. It features an aluminum alloy cylinder block combined with FSI direct injection technology and is equipped with the Audi Valvelift System (AVS) for variable valve lift, emphasizing smooth operation, fuel efficiency, and low emissions. It was primarily installed in the Audi A6 C6 and A8 D3 models.
The cylinder block is cast using a high-silicon aluminum alloy (Alusil) process, eliminating the need for traditional cylinder liners. A wear-resistant surface is achieved through special honing, balancing lightweight construction with high strength.
